Bertholdo was born on August 9th, 1931.  Bertholdo's father was Miguel Boesing and his mother was Tereza John.  His paternal grandparents are Maximiliano Boesing and Maria Magdalena Weiderkehr ; his maternal grandparents were Jacob John and Luiza Petry.  He had six brothers and four sisters, named Guido, Myron, Harry, Celso, Egon, Felix, Iraci, Maria, Ines and Brigida.  He is the third oldest of the eleven children.
